Abergavenny Cricket Club recently heard the sad news of the passing of Paul Beaumont after a long battle with his health.
Paul along with his family have been closely linked with Abergavenny Cricket Club for many years. His wife ‘Dinkie’ has supported and at times run the Ladies Section along with his daughter Lisa. His son Richard and grandson Dylan have both played for the club with distinction.
Paul didn’t play cricket but in his younger days he swam the channel, he also served in the Royal Marines, despite not playing he has supported the club in many ways, including ordering and delivering supplies for the Bar because he knew his wines having spent years running the Wine store in town, he also carried out numerous other duties as a committee man.
His contribution was such that it was recognised with a Vice Presidency in 2006. Since that time he has continued to support the club whenever called upon and regularly visited the club until his health deteriorated , he will be greatly missed.
